Exteriors Assignment
This is my first dusk shot. This is part of the back of the Complexe sportif de Saint-Laurent. This is a sport center located on Boulevard Thimens. The sport center contains an indoor soccer field, a 25-meter pool, a recreational pool, a single gym, a palestra and a multifunctional room. The building was completed in 2017 and the architects were HCMA Architecture + Design and Saucier + Perrotte architectes.
This is my second dusk shot. This is part of a huge building located on Boulevard Thimens. This property contains three companies : Lufa Farms, Brighton Best International (a fastener supplier) and Anixter (Tri-Ed ) which is a security system supplier. The building contains Lufa Farms' biggest rooftop greenhouse and it also the largest urban farm in the world. The greenhouse was completed in 2020 and it is dedicated to growing eggplants and tomatoes.
This photo represents a shot with horizontal and vertical line parallel to the edge of the frame. This was taken on a sunny day and it is a part of the Redpath Library building on McTavish Street. It was McGill University's first dedicated library building. The building currently contains the Humanities and Social Sciences Library, the largest branch of the McGill University Library. The architect of this library was Sir Andrew Taylor and he designed this building in the Romanesque style. It was finally completed in 1893.
This is my second photo who represents a shot with horizontal and vertical line parallel to the edge of the frame. This was taken on a cloudy day during the morning. This is the Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral located on Rue de la Cathédrale. The cathedral was completed in 1894 and its architect was Victor Bourgeau. The building was designed to be a low scale replica of St. Peter's cathedral and it has a Neo-Renaissance and a Baroque architectural style.
This is the fifth shot of my choosing and it was taken on a sunny day. This is a close-up shot to the Michal and Reneta Hornstein Pavilion for Peace. It is one of the pavilions of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It is located in Bishop Street and was completed in 2016. This museum was designed by Atelier TAG and Jodoin Lamarre Pratte. This pavilion is devoted to international art and education. They exhibit ancient and modern collections, as well as new acquisitions. In addition, they provide spaces for family, educational and community activities as well art therapy programs.
